This is my third tattoo, taken minutes after the wonderful artist was finished. I got it on August 17, 2011; the day of my father’s ‘memorial service’. My dad taught me how to windsurf and windsurfing was his passion, he lived out in San Diego surfing and he was even a boat mechanic so water was his life. I remember being 7 years old and my dad putting me on the front of his board to go surfing in the hurricanes because that was really the only time the Gulf had any waves. He even bought me my own sail that year, we were pretty rad. I miss my dad every day but having him with me wherever I go helps me cope. The dates in the sail are is birth and death days. <3

I’m sorry I don’t remember the artist’s name, I was in such a state of shock it just didn’t stick but I got it done in Fort Myers at a great shop next to the Harley Davidson store called Art&Soul. It’s a great shop and everyone there does fantastic work.
